Our Story

Five Star Tack is a new company, in business since April of 2008, and we are out to break the mold when it comes to equestrian design. With a background in brand identity and marketing along with a lifetime of owning horses and competing it is my goal to develop a brand of bridles and strap goods identified by it's unique, stylish designs. The celtic cross logo represents the expert blending of the fashion, style and functionality of each of our products. Five Star Tack has fulfilled my life long dream of combining my love of fashion, high quality tack and the opportunity to give back to others.

A love of fine tack goes into every product Five Star Tack sells. Each Archetype bridle and strap good is individually developed in-house and goes through many rounds of revisions in order to bring you a product that won’t be found anywhere else. We have complete control over the manufacturing process to insure that only the best product reaches the buyer. We firmly believe in quality over quantity as it is better to have a small product line of outstanding quality than many products rushed to market of average quality. Being a small company gives us the advantage of easily changing and adding to our product line based on customer requests and feedback. Need to switch out a noseband, cheek piece or browband? No problem!  When you contact Five Star Tack you are talking to the owner and designer, not a customer service person who doesn't know one brand of tack from the next. In addition, every product is carefully inspected and packed before shipping. Be sure to bookmark our site as our product line continually evolves.

Five Star Tack is proud of its association with J.&E. Sedgwick & Co. of Walsall, England. The finest bridles in the world are made from Sedgwick leather. Five Star only uses Sedgwick's finest grade leather for it's products. We think it is important for the buyer to know where the leather for their tack comes from. There are many leather tanneries of varying quality and many that claim to use english tanning methods. However, the buyer has no idea of the quality of the leather they are buying. While the tack may be reasonable in price, it is not made to last and will wind up costing the owner more money in the long run. The Sedgwick name stands for best in class quality and is another assurance that you are buying an exceptional leather product. Visit our leather care page to learn more about J&E Sedgwick and the best way to care for Sedgwick leather.

I am very fortunate to be in the position I am in. Firstly, I am able to meet and work with people whom I would have never had the opportunity to. Living life as a cancer survivor, Five Star Tack has taken my mind away from a disease that at times has been all consuming. It has kept me involved with horses even though I lack the time to ride and compete like I used to. Lastly, it has given me the vehicle to fulfill my obligation to help others with cancer. While there are many ways for a cancer survivor to give back, having a business gives me the funds to donate and with the struggles many charities face in obtaining donations it makes sense for me to give back in this way.

I hope you have enjoyed reading about Five Star Tack. Your feedback and suggestions are both welcome and appreciated and I look forward to having you as a customer!

Best regards,

Jamie Greene,
Owner and Designer
