Are you tired of seeing bridles that look exactly the same? Are you tired of bridles that break after only a few years or are on their way to breaking? Well I was and I decided to do something about it. Five Star Tack was formed in 2008 to provide an alternative to the many "bland" looking bridles available.
Every one of our bridles and strap goods is designed by Five Star Tack. They are not purchased through a distributor like so many other bridles nor are they made by one of the big bridle making companies who use the assembly line method to make their bridles. Rather, Five Star Tack employs a small shop of bridle makers who take great pride in crafting each individual bridle. Unlike many companies, we refuse to cut corners by using lesser quality leather in order to make a cheaper priced item. Our philsophy is to do the opposite. We use what I believe to be the best leather and fittings while keeping overhead low in order to sell an exceptional product but at a more reasonable cost than similar quality brands. We don't have fancy offices or a showroom. Nor do we have a big advertising and marketing budget. Salaries? Just one person to worry about and that one person does many jobs. The majority of profits go back into product development and supporting the charities I love. See I told you we were different!
The success of Five Star Tack has come largely through word of mouth and is a testament to the quality and design of our products. Each one of our bridles and strap goods has a design element that gives it a distinctive look whether it's a celtic cross concho on a browband or the custom elastic colors of our Signature breastplate. Unlike other brands, Five Star Tack brings new designs to market every year much like apparel retailing. Combined with limited production runs for each product, our bridles and strap goods are coveted by those who neither want nor need to look like everyone else. Hence if you want a basic black dressage bridle or the same fancy stitch hunter bridle everyone else has, there are many brands that sell those and you would do better by purchasing from that company.
Five Star Tack is also a vehicle to donate money and raise awareness of some of the great charities that help both people and horses. I feel I can give back to a greater degree in this manner than I could on my own. In the end, it's not what we can do for ourselves but what we can do for others that counts.
